Ecclesiastical Nursery and Infant School “Agia Irini”

The Ecclesiastical Nursery and Infant School “Agia Irini” was founded in Glyfada in 1993. It was inaugurated by Metropolitan Agathangelos of Nea Smyrni, and since 2002, following the establishment of the Holy Metropolis of Glyfada, Elliniko, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vari, the nursery has belonged to the new Metropolis.

Through its donation, AIGEA AMKE contributed to the implementation of a major project, delivering to the Metropolis a model nursery where young children are educated and cared for in a familiar, welcoming, pleasant, and safe environment. As part of the donation, all the necessary studies were prepared for the radical reconstruction and extension of the existing building and its conversion into a nursery with the capacity to accommodate 6 infants and 15 toddlers. A new playground area was also created, and the surrounding grounds were landscaped and planted. The nursery was fully furnished, and all the necessary hospitality and electronic equipment, as well as educational material, were supplied.
