The Formation of the Ancient Regime of Mount Athos: The Byzantine Period (8th – early 15th c.)

In his extensive academic work, the jurist and holder of a doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin, Anastasios Nikopoulos, examines the institutions and legal foundations of the Holy Mountain (Mount Athos) as they were shaped during the Byzantine period.
With this publication, the Patriarchal Foundation for Patristic Studies inaugurated the series “Athonite Analecta,” a new scholarly collection dedicated to Mount Athos.
