The Sourlingeio Foundation was established in 1998 in Kanalia, Magnesia, during the tenure of the then Metropolitan of Demetrias and later Blessed Archbishop of Athens, Christodoulos. The Foundation was named after the family of its benefactor, Maria Manea-Sourliga.
The Foundation strives daily to meet the needs of an increasing number of elderly people. Today, it accommodates more than 40 residents, men and women, who are fully or partially self-sufficient. Its staff, consisting of qualified medical and nursing personnel, ensures systematic care, round-the-clock protection, and the mental well-being of its residents.
With deep sensitivity towards the elderly, AIGEA AMKE responded to the request of the Holy Metropolis of Demetrias for the renovation and functional upgrade of the Nursing Home’s building facilities.
