The Nautical Athletic Club of Palaia Fokaia “Pytheas” was founded in 2004 with the aim of cultivating a love for the sea and nature, promoting sailing and other sports, and contributing to the harmonious development of the physical and mental skills of its members.
In recent years, the Club has made significant progress, particularly in the Optimist division (with 46 athletes), as well as in the Laser and Windsurf sections, attracting an increasing number of young participants. Through the development of its Beginner, Pre-competitive, and Competitive training programmes, dozens of children are introduced each year to the exciting world of sailing.
In April 2024, the Optimist racing team participated in the Panhellenic Championship for children under 13, organised by the Nautical Club of Paros. Two of the Club’s athletes achieved outstanding distinctions, winning 1st and 6th place, thereby securing their selection to the National Youth Team.
Recognising the importance of supporting sport and young athletes, AIGEA AMKE offered valuable assistance to the Club by undertaking the repair of three inflatable boats, which are essential for the training and safety of the athletes.
