The Museum of Cycladic Art has been operating since 1986. It was founded to house the antiquities collection of Dolly and Nikolaos Goulandris, and has since expanded significantly. Its permanent collections include 3,000 objects of Cycladic art (3200–2000 BC)—one of the most comprehensive in the world—as well as works of ancient Greek and Cypriot art. Its temporary exhibitions focus not only on antiquity but also on modern and contemporary art.
It is a museum open to the public, a vibrant meeting place that engages visitors of all ages. At the heart of its operation are its restaurant and museum shop.
Through the donation of AIGEA AMKE, the reconstruction of an existing ground-floor space and its conversion into the Museum’s new shop was made possible. The architectural design and implementation of the project upgraded both the appearance and functionality of the shop, which now offers not only replicas of the Museum’s collections but also contemporary creations by Greek designers.
