Koufonisia Classical Music Anniversary Festival

The Koufonisia Classical Music Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 with a commemorative tribute— a retrospective journey through the Greek sound, from antiquity to the present day.
Under the theme “Five Millennia of Greek Sound,” the festival highlighted the continuity of Greek musical culture through seven events of high artistic caliber, under the artistic direction of its founder, conductor and pianist Cornelius Michailidis.

Η πιο εμβληματική συναυλία πραγματοποιήθηκε στη νήσο Κέρο, σε συνδιοργάνωση με την Εφορεία Αρχαιοτήτων Κυκλάδων και την Περιφέρεια Νοτίου Αιγαίου, υπό την καλλιτεχνική επιμέλεια του Μιχαήλ Μαρμαρινού. Το δρώμενο, αφιερωμένο στη μνήμη του αρχαιολόγου Lord Colin Renfrew, διέτρεξε πέντε χιλιετίες ελληνικού ήχου – από την αρχαία μουσική και το βυζαντινό μέλος έως έργα των Ιάννη Ξενάκη και Γιώργου Κουμεντάκη. Συμμετείχαν, μεταξύ άλλων: χορωδία musicAeterna Byzantina με σολίστ την Ribale Wehbe, Δημήτρης Τηλιακός, Όλια Λαζαρίδου, Δημήτρης Δεσύλλας, Νίκος Ξανθούλης, Σωκράτης Σινόπουλος, Callum Armstrong, Maria-Christina Harper, Oros Ensemble.
