Ilion Special Gymnasium–Lyceum

Following the encouragement of the former President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, AIGEA AMKE donated a specially adapted school bus to the Ilion Special Gymnasium and Special Lyceum. The bus (MAN TGE 5.180) is equipped with a modern wheelchair securement system and has a capacity of eight passengers. Beyond transporting students to and from school, the bus will also support the expansion of the school’s recreational activities and outreach initiatives, as well as those of the parents’ and guardians’ association.
The new school bus, delivered on 8 February 2024, proved to be a true lifeline for the school, as prior to its acquisition thirteen students had been effectively confined to their homes and unable to attend classes, having already missed half of the school year. Following the donation, two older school vehicles of the unit will be withdrawn due to age.
