The Hellenic Youth Symphony Orchestra (ELSON) was founded in 2017 by conductor Dionysis Grammenos and is composed of young musicians from across Greece and abroad. Based on the European model of National Youth Orchestras, ELSON’s primary aim is to identify, mentor, promote, and train talented young musicians in the symphonic and operatic repertoire, while also offering them the opportunity to participate in concerts and collaborate with internationally renowned artists, conductors, soloists, and professors.

Its work has received international recognition through its selection as a member of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras, where it serves as Greece’s sole representative. Through this collaboration, its musicians are given the opportunity to perform alongside other youth orchestras as part of the MusXchange exchange programme, which is supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme. A major milestone in the orchestra’s history was its performance at Carnegie Hall in New York, where it received outstanding reviews (3 November 2024).

AIGEA AMKE has been actively supporting the activities of ELSON since 2021. In particular, the 2024 donation enabled all its musicians to travel from across Greece to Athens to carry out the necessary rehearsals prior to their major concert in New York.
