The Folklore Museum of Stemnitsa was established in 1985 through the initiative of Ioannis and Eirini Savvopoulou. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and is a member of the Greek section of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). Its mission includes the preservation, safeguarding, and documentation of all types of folkloric material from Greece, and especially from Stemnitsa.
Today, the Museum is housed in two buildings. The first is a three-storey 18th-century house, while the second was constructed in 1995 according to traditional architectural principles, funded by Ioannis and Eirini Savvopoulou, Panagiotis Angelopoulos, and Ioannis Martinos. AEGEAS AMKE has been a longstanding supporter of the Museum, providing financial assistance for its educational programmes and covering part of its operating expenses. A project for the upgrading and renovation of the Museum building is currently in progress.

DONATION OF THE NON-PROFIT CIVIL COMPANY AEGEAS

  • Support for the Museum’s operation for the implementation of exhibitions and educational programmes.
  • Preparation of studies for the renovation of the Museum (museographic and mechanical/electrical installations).
