Iconostasis from Enechil, Cappadocia.
The Anavyssos Folklore Museum was inaugurated by the Anavyssos Folk Dance and Cultural Association on Wednesday, 23 July 2014, with the exclusive sponsorship of AIGEA AMKE, which supported the spatial configuration, the museographic and museological study, and the conservation of the exhibits.
The Museum’s aim is to engage and attract the public, especially children, for whom educational programmes are organised—with the assistance of specialised scientists—focusing on weaving, quilt-making, and other aspects of local tradition, customs, and folk heritage.
