Since 2023, AIGEA AMKE, in collaboration with the Acropolis Museum, has been implementing an Educational Programme entitled “4th Grade at the Acropolis Museum.”
This initiative, centred on the Parthenon Sculptures, forms part of our educational programmes and is addressed to Primary Education students, specifically those in the 4th Grade. It concerns schools in the Municipalities of Western Attica (2023–2024) and Eastern Attica (2024–2025).
The aim of the programme is to bring students into contact with works of art from Greek antiquity of high artistic and aesthetic value and, more specifically, to foster their awareness of historical identity and cultural heritage through engagement with the material remains of the past.
The programme includes guided tours conducted by the Museum’s guides and staff, the distribution to participating students of the educational booklet “The Parthenon Sculptures: Six Short Stories of Separation,” and the provision of round-trip transportation by bus from the schools to the Museum. The cost of transportation, as well as the reprinting of the educational material, is covered by AIGEA AMKE.
During the period January–May 2024, 32 schools from Western Attica visited the Museum (916 students and 72 teachers), while between October and December 2024, 17 schools from Eastern Attica participated (561 students and 49 teachers).
