In his book, Konstantinos Vafeiadis examines the artistic movement that prevailed on Mount Athos from the second half of the 14th century and subsequently evolved into what is now known as the “Cretan School.”
Taking as a point of departure works of art from the Monastery of Dionysiou, the study unfolds in distinct sections. Alongside the examination of icons and wall paintings, it addresses a range of issues related to stylistic analysis, dating, and attribution to specific workshops or artists.
