Their sacrifice, inseparably linked to one of the defining events of the Greek War of Independence, is now inscribed within a site that has become a symbol of freedom. The names of the fallen Amblianites are engraved on the monument, preserving the memory of their sacrifice. His Eminence Metropolitan Damaskinos of Aetolia and Acarnania officiated the memorial service and offered prayers for the repose of the fallen.
