Although they did not come from a seafaring family, the brothers Meletis and Kleovoulos Methenitis made the most of the opportunities offered by their urban background and, combined with their growing love for the sea, forged a productive course in shipping. They acquired their first vessel in 1964, at a time when Greek shipping was dynamically returning to its roots.Their example is of particular significance and contributes to a broader understanding of the Greek shipping miracle. The book was edited by the distinguished expert in the field, Georgios M.
