Following the relevant permission granted by the Holy Metropolis of Athens in 1928, the church\u2019s foundation stone was laid on 1 December 1929. Its ground plan follows Byzantine models, as it is a three-aisled, tiled-roof basilica with a dome and two bell towers.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The construction of the church was made possible through fundraising efforts and donations of materials and money from the parishioners. Until 1937, when the roof of the new church was completed, a small wooden structure stood inside it, serving the liturgical needs of the residents. The official inauguration of the church took place on 6 October 1940.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The iconographic decoration was carried out in the 1950s, while the marble iconostasis was executed by the renowned Philippotis brothers in 1973.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DONATION OF THE NON-PROFIT CIVIL COMPANY AEGEAS<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Replacement of the roof of the Holy Church.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is one of the oldest parish churches in Vyronas.
