It dates to the late 12th\u201313th century and belongs to the type of the simple four-column cross-in-square church with a small dome and three apses.<br\/>Its fa\u00e7ades are enriched with elaborate ceramic decoration, while the interior is entirely covered with wall paintings executed in three phases. The earliest phase dates to the early 13th century, whereas the greater part of the church was decorated in the 16th\u201317th centuries. Noteworthy examples of Maniot marble carving include the capitals of the four columns, the marble arched templon, and the slab of the Holy Altar.<br\/>The monument had developed structural problems, and its wall paintings had suffered severe deterioration.
