The exhibition in the Stathatos Mansion and the accompanying bilingual catalogue titled ANTIQUARIANISM AND PHILELLENISM: The Thanassis and Marina Martinos Collection, constituted a special expression of homage, in celebration of the bicentennial of the Greek War of Independence. Presented for the first time were 60 exhibits relating to the Revolution and to Philhellenism, the efforts of Europeans on behalf of the Greeks, under the curation of art historian Fani-Maria Tsigakou and Professor Nikolaos Chr.
