In 1981 the facility was turned into the Penteli Hospital for Children and in 1991 into the Penteli General Hospital for Children. Today it is one of the three hospitals for Children in Attica. Its eight clinics, various departments and laboratories aim to provide integrated medical care for patients up to the age of 16 years and training for doctors, as well as to implement educational and research programmes.   <\/p>\n\n<p>The Non-profit Civil Company AEGEAS, aware of the Hospital\u2019s leading role in the healthcare of children in the wide catchment area of northern and eastern Attica, and being particularly conscious during the covid-19 pandemic of the need to support the National Health Service and especially children, has made a series of donations to the Hospital.<\/p>\n\n<p>In 2023, the donation of equipment to the 2nd Pediatric Clinic and the Neurology Department was also completed, with the procurement of 30 modern electrically adjustable beds and bedside cabinets.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DONATIONS OF THE NON-PROFIT CIVIL COMPANY AEGEAS<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arrangement of a space for the separation of non-emergency and urgent cases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renovation of five outpatient consultation rooms\/surgeries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equipment of the 2nd Paediatric Clinic and the Neurological Department (30 electric beds and bedside tables).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ARRANGEMENT OF SPACE FOR RECEIVING URGENT CASES<\/h4>\n\n<p>Aim of the project was the spatial separation of the non-emergency and the urgent cases of which there was a rapid increase at the height of the covid-19 pandemic. The intervention was made to an existing space in outpatients\u2019 section, which was given its own entrance and an outside shelter, and was connected by a metal bridge with the central complex of the Hospital. Construction works involved the total remodelling of the examination rooms, the offices for the medical and nursing personnel, and the reception area of the secretariat.
