The General Hospital of Karditsa serves as the principal pillar of public healthcare in the Regional Unit of Karditsa and is one of the most important medical institutions in Thessaly. Operating under the 5th Health Region of Thessaly and Central Greece, the hospital provides a broad range of medical, surgical, and laboratory services, covering the needs of a wide geographical and population area.
Of particular importance to the local community is the hospital’s continuous upgrading of its infrastructure and services, as well as the development of specialised units such as the Centre for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (KEFIAP), the Artificial Kidney Unit, and mental health services, all of which reinforce its multidimensional role as a modern centre for healthcare and rehabilitation.
