The Agios Savvas Athens General Cancer and Oncology Hospital is the most emblematic oncology hospital in Greece, having been closely associated for decades with cancer treatment, the advancement of oncological research, and specialised nursing care in the country. The hospital was established on the initiative of the Hellenic Cancer Institute, which, as early as 1937, decided to construct a modern cancer hospital on Alexandras Avenue in Athens.

Since the beginning of its operation, “Agios Savvas” has evolved into a central pillar of public oncological care in Greece, developing high-level clinical and laboratory infrastructure, as well as significant activity in the fields of surgical oncology, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and palliative care. Thousands of surgical procedures covering the full spectrum of oncological surgery are performed at the hospital each year, while its close connection with the academic and research community has established it as a major reference point within the Greek medical landscape.

Of particular importance is the hospital’s recent recognition as a Comprehensive Cancer Centre by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), a distinction that confirms its pivotal role not only in the provision of clinical services, but also in research, education, and the overall support of oncology patients.

AIGEAS AMKE proceeded with the donation of state-of-the-art medical equipment to the Agios Savvas Athens General Cancer and Oncology Hospital, substantially enhancing the hospital’s diagnostic and interventional monitoring capabilities for patients.
