Few place names carry such a long historical tradition as Acharnes. Located in the northwestern part of the Attica Basin, just 20 km from the center of Athens, the Municipality of Acharnes is one of the largest municipalities in Attica and in Greece as a whole, both in terms of area and population.
This collective publication offers a panorama of the historic city and aspires to serve as a repository of self-knowledge for the land of Acharnes. The scientific editing of the bilingual edition (Greek–English) was undertaken by Sofia-Alexia Papazafeiropoulou, Professor at the National Technical University of Athens.
