Pikermi is often referred to as the “Parthenon” of paleontology. The Deinotherium was among the prehistoric creatures whose fossilized remains were discovered in the wider area, and the local Cultural Association chose its name in reference to this remarkable heritage.
Founded in 1988, the Association aims to promote the cultural and intellectual development of the area, while maintaining a broader interest in Greece’s cultural life and traditions.
AIGEAS AMKE has been a significant supporter of its activities.
