Kythnos Primary School was established in 2000 through the merger of the island’s two school units, in Chora and Dryopida, with the aim of providing improved educational coverage for students. Since 2012, it has also operated a full-day programme, further enhancing learning opportunities. The school operates on two campuses, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades based in Chora, and the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades in Dryopida. In the 2022–2023 school year, it served 95 students, a number that reflects the vitality of the school community on the small island.
