It has one of the most distinguished Fencing Departments in Greece and serves as a training ground for high-level athletes. Through its donation, AIGEA AMKE made possible the participation of three young fencers and their coach in the two U20 World Cups held in El Salvador and Costa Rica in November 2024.
The athletes Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, Konstantinos Karampasis, and Artemios Tzovanis, together with their coach, Giorgos Passas, delivered outstanding performances at the Junior Men’s Épée World Cup (U20) held in San José, Costa Rica (16–17 November), returning to Greece with two medals. Artemios Tzovanis won the bronze medal in the individual event, while in the team event Tzovanis, Karampasis, and Theodoropoulos also secured the bronze medal.
This marks the greatest success of a Greek team in fencing, and particularly in épée, offering hope for the bright future of Greek fencing.
