E.G.N.Y.A. is a private legal entity (NPID), officially recognised as a charitable association and a certified non-profit provider of social care services. It was founded in 1973, when a group of parents established the “Association of Parents of People with Intellectual Disabilities,” with the shared goal of creating a residential home for their children, when they themselves would no longer be able to support them. Since 1998, the E.G.N.Y.A. Residential Facility has been based in Lagonisi, Attica. It serves approximately 70 adults with intellectual disabilities and includes a Day Care and Daily Support Centre, Supported Living Residences, and a Boarding House. The operation of the Residential Facility aims to enable its residents to live in a warm and creative environment as equal and active members of society, with opportunities for development and well-being.

Since 2013, AIGEA AMKE has consistently supported the important humanitarian work of E.G.N.Y.A. through a series of donations, including the procurement of equipment and supplies, as well as the implementation of technical works.
