The school has a long and continuous presence in the educational life of the area, representing the continuation of the historic school of Zelova, the former name of present-day Vounoplagia. Its operation dates back to the last decades of the 18th century, with the first documented reference on 2 February 1802, making it one of the oldest educational institutions in the region.
The stone-built school building, constructed in 1932, now houses the Kindergarten, while since 1993 the Primary School has been operating in a new, modern building that meets contemporary educational needs.
Today, it operates as a six-class primary school with an extended-day programme and serves 117 students, actively contributing to the education and social development of the local community.
