Monument to Ioannis Kalamiotis

Ioannis Kalamiotis, a military leader of the Greek War of Independence of 1821 originating from Kalamos, gave his life in the Battle of the Acropolis in 1826. AEGEAS AMKE undertook the construction of the monument following a request by the Arvanitic Association “BESA,” in honour of the fighter. The sculpture was created by the marble sculptor Ioannis Selepés. The unveiling of the monument took place in October 2022 in the presence of the public.
