Construction of the church began in 2004 and was completed in 2019. It is a large cross-in-square church with a dome, featuring arcades along three of its façades. The church has become a particularly popular pilgrimage site, as it houses a copy of the miraculous icon of Panagia Soumela—an enduring symbol of Pontic Hellenism—as well as several holy relics of saints.
Athanasios and Marina Martinos responded to the request of the local community and the Holy Metropolis of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupolis, undertaking the completion works of the Holy Church.

DONATION OF THE NON-PROFIT CIVIL COMPANY AEGEAS
