Holy Church of Saint Demetrios

The Church of Saint Demetrios is the main parish church of Ano Liosia. For many years, the local community, led by members of the parish council, had been striving to complete its construction. Thanks to the significant donation of Athanasios and Marina Martinos, this was achieved in 2015.
The church is a cross-in-square structure with a dome. A distinctive feature is the tall bell tower rising on its southern side. The interior is dominated by white marble, lending the space a particular sense of grandeur.
On 25 October 2015, on the eve of the feast of Saint Demetrios, the ceremonial opening of the church was held.
