At the site of Agia Triada in Kamariza, within the National Park of Sounion and very close to the galleries of the ancient mines—where in the 19th and early 20th centuries the settlements of miners were thriving—the Church of the Holy Trinity stands.
The church was built in the late 19th century to serve the religious needs of the mining community. It is a single-aisled, barrel-vaulted structure of very simple architectural form and minimal decoration. The templon was constructed around 1900–1910, as were the five despotic icons. The icon of the Virgin Mary bears an inscription dating it to 1710.
Recognizing the particular importance of the church for both the faithful and the history of the local community, AIGEAS AMKE has contributed through its donations to its restoration and conservation.
