Primary aim of the Non-profit Civil Company DIPYLON is the study of ancient topography and the manmade environment, through the synergy of Archaeology, History, Informatics and Cartography. The programs and the applications it designs and implements make an important contribution to research and education relating to the topography of ancient cities and the cultural landscape, and generate a dialectical relationship between citizens and monuments. Digital projects such as ‘Walk the Wall Athens’, ‘Mapping the Antiquities of Athens’, ‘Maps of Attica in age of Digital Humanities’, ‘Walk to Plato’s Academy’ are novel and innovative in the digital promotion of Greece’s cultural assets.
