Construction of a coastal pedestrian zone inside the Artillery School Camp at Nea Peramos

Construction of the pedestrian zone along the length of the seashore exactly outside the camp of the Artillery School at Nea Peramos was a project of decisive importance for improving the daily life of the area’s residents and mainly for facilitating the safe movement of pupils to the town’s Junior High School. The study was prepared by the 2nd Bureau of the Directorate of Infrastructure and Environmental Protection of the Hellenic Army General Staff. It was implemented thanks to the donation of the Non-profit Civil Company AEGEAS and included the creation of a pedestrian zone 710 m long and 4 m wide, the installation of lighting and of retractable bollards to prevent the passage of vehicles.
