Primary School in Kalamos

The Kalamos Primary School was inaugurated in 1970, after considerable and concerted efforts by the local community. The indoor gym was built next to the schoolrooms several years later. This is the only Primary School in the area and is attended by about 100 pupils. The donation of the Non-profit Civil Company AEGEAS enabled the conversion of the indoor gym into a multipurpose hall for school events. The radical renovation involved extensive technical interventions (painting, replacement of doors and windows, installing a new boiler for the central heating and an air-conditioning system, new sanitary facilities, construction of a stage and of backstage facilities), as well as the installation of a sound and microphone system.
